I'm going to order a couple of powerheads and a wave maker for my 55 g. Would two 1200 maxi-jets be overkill? Should I go with a couple of 900s instead? I don't really want to blow everything out of the tank. Also, I need to glue down a couple frags with button polyps on them. Any ideas on what glue I should use?

That doesn't sound like over kill at all. :) I think the two 900s would be on the weak side.

What kind of frags do you need to glue? Overall super gel glue works best.

good deal. frags are small (2 in.x2in.) chucks of LR with button polyps.

ok, i checked out the gel and it said to remove all moisture from surfaces to be glued. If i'm gluing a frag with zooanthids on it, how does that work?

got to agree about the flow as stated above. Volume wise two 1200s are not that much. which brings you to the dilema of the multiple power head look. Not my favorite thing for sure. mabe check out some closed loop systems. They are really easy to do and you can hide a lot of it along the top rim of your tank. best of luck.

thanks for the info. anybody have any idea on the glue? I know gel is the way to go, but how do you glue frags of LR that have zooanthids on them? Is there anything that doesn't need to dry to glue?

just dry off the rock, and dry off the base of the colony you want to mount to the rock. the super gule will work fast so you're really only keeping the rock and colony out of the water maybe a minute or two...after 20-30 seconds the glue will be fine and you can put the colony and rock back in the tank.

awesome, thanks for the advice. I'll order the glue with the wavemaker.
