Some of the guys from WORC have put together a new site called MASO to bring together all of the Ohio reef clubs for trading and information. I gather the goal is to be a lot like Michigan Reefers! Check it out.

LOL

By the way, NORA now has a forum on MASO.

We need another forum like we need another hole in the head :) I would really like to see everyone start making the switch to the forum on our website.

Personally, I like the one site for everybody. Much easier to find what others in Ohio are doing and easier for us to tell them. I really like what Michigan Reefers got going.

If nothing else its a place for other clubs to see that we exist. It might help with invites to smaller swaps and DISCOUNTS.

I'm kind of at odds with all this... I really don't like bouncing around all the time, but also the idea of interacting with a larger group on a regular basis has its own appeal and advantages. I hate to say it but I think that's part of the reason the TRAC forum hasn't taken off, for the group we have it just dilutes the pool to much....

True the TRAC Forum seems to be more informational. I like NORA to take all of the BS and be the trouble makers! ;-)

Aquatic Aquaman

The Forum may not be taking off but there are people showing up to our meetings so I'm happy about that one. The difference between NORA and TRAC is one is a social gathering (NORA) and the Other is becoming an Organization (TRAC).

My truck that is ;)

To each his own. I for one really don't like change and jumping around. That's why I haven't even signed up for NORA's site yet. I don't even post outside of the NORA forums anymore. And to me, clubs are supposed to be fun so I like the social aspect. Some people need a more rigid structure.

Very true selgado.

I like having both. I know I can goof off here and say whatever I want, without fear of ticking people off too bad. I see NORA as more of a group of people chatting rather than a serious club. TRAC is more focused on becoming an actual reefkeepers club, with meetings, tours, guest speakers and such. A place to goof off and socialize, and a place to really get the club aspect going. I like that.

I love NORA's new chat room though. It will take care of most of my stupid comment posts.

Hey John I hope you decide to participate in NORA's forum. There are a few threads right now that could use your input. Plus you don't have to worry about being moderated to death. BTW we do still plan on having meetings when the weather gets nice. The only reason we are not having "official" meetings right now is because no one could decide and a place to meet that would be fair to all of us (personally I don't care where it is).

Let me say I didn't mean to offend in saying that it doesn't seem like the TRAC forum has taken off, it just seems like there are a lot of times there are days between posts.
Personally I'm not terribly interested in being super formal, I'm the Union President at work and get my fill of it there. Honestly I like the informality we have here and I think the social aspect is very important. Do we have some opinionated people? Absolutely, but I really think when it comes to a serious question these same people are more than willing to help and do so on a daily basis. Seriousness and fun are not mutually exclusive.

Aquatic Aquaman

Very True. There was not Offence in saying the Forum hasn't taken off. I don't mind that the forum hasn't taken off because I'd like to keep it to club buisness. As long as people show up for meetings and we have a good time meeting with each other in person I'm happy. If we sit and have a live conversation or guest speakers to come in or Organize a NW Ohio Frag swap I'll even be more thrilled. If any of you are looking for a social gathering to talk live one on one with other reefers we would love for you to show up and say hello. I know everyone is dying to meet Dubbin and of course yourself hllywd. Its good to put faces with post.
