I've been purchasing my RO water through the LFS. I'm starting to spend a lot on it. I'm starting to think that getting an RO/DI filter will save me money and a lot of hassle in the future.

Can you recommend me one? I also really don't know anything about them. I'd like one that makes my water as pure as it can come.

Thanks.

www.airwaterice.com the typhoon III seems to be very popular. $200 i believe. Many will say its the best, go for 75gpd.

Some buy cheaper units on ebay for around $100.

Personally I would go for the Typhoon III but im sure others will post and tell you the ones on ebay are just as good. ;)

I went with the economy 75 per day unit (RO-CAR175-3-E). Only $104 and all I had to do was a DI to it. Cheap but it works very well. The DI add on kit is only $45.

http://www.aquaticreefsystems.com/ I bought the Oceanus with the home drinking kit. Customer service is outstnading. He talked me through some difficult set up stuff; we werre on the phone until late into the night. I do admit that I buy my filters through SpectraPure, who also, BTW, has outstanding service.

I have a Typhoon I from airwaterice and highly recommend it. The economy 75gpd mentioned with DI added comes to within a couple of $ of the Typhoon I. The economy unit has small filters, and it appears it only has one carbon block. With the Typhoon you get full sized filters, carbon blocks, the Dow Filmtec 75gpd membrane, refillable DI cartridge, and excellent customer support.

thanks for that airwaterice link. I've been shopping for RO/DI units and that seems to be one of the most informatives sites I've seen.

I also added two more DI units in line with the main unit. Adds a little reassurance for when the main DI is depleted. Get the refillable units.
