because between Chad and John... I have had no free time to do anything with it. Easier to drop off there and let them sell it since the sale is in a few weeks.
I should see if Fade32 wants it, but he would just break it with his drill press skills
Hobbes8017
03/06/2006, 10:17 PM
Fade32 - How can your basement be an aquarium? Your current tank list says you only have a 215 RR tank.... Does not sound that impressive to me.
I will update soon and I think it is mainly Chad that you have been helping and yes John I would break it. For sure if you are helping me!!!!!!!!

Chuck at TWP said to give them a call if you have any questions about sizes of tanks that they will have in for the sale or for any other questions. He did you to me the other day that they were going to have new, drilled tanks for the event.

are the prices good?
saltyunderground
03/07/2006, 09:12 AM
Steve, do you know what the discounts will be?
Seems like the mark up on tanks is so small they can't discount too mcuh more than they already discount normally. But they don't normally carry drilled tanks either I don't think.

Like I says,
Better than Christmas Prices.
TWP get those wholesalers to cut them a break as a reward for spending so much with them over the entire year. So TWP spend their reward on the customers again for spending their money with TWP. It's really a Thank-You sale for all the people who supported them throught out the year(s).

If you put items up for sale there, do you have to be there at the end of the sale in case your items don't sell and you have to pick them up? In other words, if you have something there that doesn't sell, they're not going to set it aside and store it anywhere for you, correct?
MayoBoy
03/08/2006, 07:38 AM
Dave,
If you need me to run by and get something for you that's not a problem - I live 10 minutes away.
saltyunderground
03/08/2006, 07:41 AM
Shooter I did ask John your question about do you have to be there during the sale if you are selling. He said you do not have to be there. I assume that if your item does not sell, you have to go pick it up or ask them to throw it in the dumpster.
Since I live around the corner from TWP, I will pick up your item for you (as long as I can lift it and fit it in my car) and store it a short time for you if that helps.

Thanks. I am planning right now on taking my 26 gal bow tank/stand, CPR aquafuge, and PC light over there and trying my luck with them that way. All are in great condition so I'm hoping they'd sell for sure and fast this way. I know I went to this last year and you had to be quick on some items to get them.

03/08/2006, 11:50 AM
Last year, the only things that did not sell was a complete destroyed 29 gal tank and the completely demolished stand it came in on.

TWP said that you can give them a regular price and a low price when you drop the stuff off. If you give them a low price, and your item has not sold by 2:30-3:00, they will lower the price for you to try and sell the item. They do not really want to negotiate pricing with a possible seller. Hope that answers the question.

Yeah, they dont give out the low price until the bitter end.

There is alot of stuff, but it's good to get there early and circle around the place and try to figure out what you want to nab before it even opens. For example, I went looking for a stand for my 29 gal QT. After circling the sale area before they opened, I realized that there was only one stand there that fit the bill, so I had to make a beeline for it as soon as the sale area opened. No browsing around or I probably would have lost it. And it's really not that far of a drive, and I come from farther away than you. But then to me, driving to Marine Solutions or places like that aren't a big deal either.

The selling will be through the store correct? So, we can use credit cards? It won't be all cash, right?
If anyone in the st. louis area has a nano cube 6,12,24 for sale, let me know.
I have some stupid stuff but not sure if it's worth my time.
55 gallon with cabinet/stand
48" Jebo lights with legs....130 watts 50/50
Remora skimmer
Penn Plax Super Castle
and a few other things.
Didn't know if it was worth bringing to the store... any suggestions?

Just thought this might be helpful.
