why does everyone not like the rios very much?

what happens to them?

They explode and put grease and burn plastic into your tank. It happened to me on a new tank I was cycling.

They have had some bad history in the past. I personally have never had a problem with them. My Rio2100 died after six or so years of use which I thought was pretty good for a pump I paid $15 for. :) My four Seios are 3 for 4 right now. They are all six months or older, but one finally kicked the bucket.
