I'm going to try and finish the final assembly for my sump tomorrow (if I can).

This is going to seem like a dumb question, but what should I clean the pipe with (insides)? Is soap and water good enough to clean everything out?

If you wnat to then go ahead and knock yourself out. Some might recommend it but I have never washed the inside of any PVC.
I have about 20-30 linear FT of PVC on my 180.
In fact, when i installed my new skimmer last month I put everything back into service within 2 hours of new plumbing with PVC glue.
Have all types of SPS/LPS/clams/softies/inverts/etc. No problems.

dont use SOAP....

IF you must be a clean freak, then use bleach or vinegar.

i wouldnt clean the inside of the pipe, they sell PVC cleaner for the outside, its not for "cleaning the pipe" its for cleaning the area to be primed and glued.
