View Full Version : 60 Gallon Hex reef tank what do you think

I going to chance my 60 hex into a salt water tank. Does anyone have a hex with any pics? Im thinking one 400 HQI over it and having a mic tank. The problem is were would you put the sump the stand is very small any ideas?

You would have to put the sump behind the tank and build something to conceal it.

or you could have 2 or 3 10 galon sumps stacked in the stand. I know big they are and you are right, it would be hard to do.i think 2X10 gal would work. you could make 1 a fuge and the other a sump or something like that. good luck

I have a 20 gal hex, mounted on the matching black acrylic stand. The tank is SPS, Zoas, LPS, and soft corals all of which are doing great. I use a hanging pendent 250W Halide, (Hellolights) and an Ecosystem Model 2410 refugium. When this was all contemplated as to location etc., I ended up finding a wrought iron, woven stand at Pier One. This has three shelves, the top to hold the refugium, middle the electrical including the Wavemaster, and the bootom is a preserved coral disply. Mounted next to the tank it all fits and gives two marine presentations, since the refugium is interesting as an entity. hope this helps, Ed.
