Scott, its a really nice little package. Very similar to the AP600. Like that model, its good to give a quick vinegar bath to the aqabee every once in a while. I didn't get any pix of mine, but here is one from the long H&S thread from another user. I noticed a considerable difference in skimming when I gravity fed this skimmer.

I wonder how it would do with your ozone unit.

Here is a picture of the skimmer I had running at the shop for a while.
The A110's will arrive back in stock March 15, maybe a few days sooner depending on customs.

Hi David,

Is it good or bad to gravity feed the H&S skimmer?

Thanks,

Sean

Thanks Fliger, it looks very impressive, I was looking at the A110.-2000 and the Deltec AP600.They are very similiar, using the same pump, but the body of the AP600 is 5 inches and the A110-2000 is 4 inches. Is there a difference between the body of the deltec being 5 inches and H&S being 4 inches? Maybe a little more contact time? Fliger or brian you know how much air the A110-2000 takes in?

Fliger I bet this skimmer would be a beast with the sander ozone unit hung up to it. I was also looking at the A150-2001, but with the ozone unit connected to the A110-2000 I bet the production would be awesome. Income tax is comming soon so I just want to make sure I get the right skimmer (german of course) :)

Sean, IMO its good to gravity feed EVERY external, recirculating skimmer. For a few reasons -

1) One less pump (heat, failure, plumbing)
2) The dirtiest water in your tank is in your overflow. That is where the film (proteins, gunk) sits. If you gravity feed, your tank is always full of 100% overflow/surface water.
3) It somewhat cleans the water before it gets to the sump b4 it gets sucked into other things like reactors, other pumps, etc.
4) You're not recirculating sump water thru your system. When you do that, you're not getting the dirtiest water in there.
5) If you have a fuge in the sump area you're not skimming out pods/plankton.
6) You can add additives to the sump and it will go to your tank, not thru your skimmer, like ca/alk/biological additives, whatever.

Just MHO and ME.

Deltecrules - I really think it comes down to price between the two. I think one is quite a bit more than the other. Heck, for the price of a AP600 you could almost get the A150.
