Hi,

I've got the 6100 + Controller on my 75g.

I have a problem with surface scum not being pulled into the overflow because the pumps are keeping the scum on the opposite side of the overflow as can be seen from the below pic.

The pumps on the right are keeping the surface water to the right - away from overflow.

When I turn of the pumps for feeding, the surface water starts to flow back towards the overflow.

Is there anything I can do to make sure that the surface water goes to the overflow rather than accumulate on on the sides of the pumps?

You could try changing the position of the pump to the other side so it is blowing the film into the overflow.

.... blowing the film into the overflow.

It is on the side opposite the overflow so it should be blowing the film into the overflow - but instead it is sucking the film towards the pumps i/o blowing it out.

Would a change in the pumps height help? How high up can I have it without causing it to suck air into it?

You could try different heights, I have had this problem before with other pumps so it isn't just Streams that cause this. I remember this problem from my first reef tank and I used Hagen 802's. It just took several different positions and trial error to find the placement that fixed the problem.
