I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how clean the salt creep and water stains off of glass tops without scratching up the glass. I was thinking about vinegar. The salt usually comes off under warm water. Its the water stains build up over time that I am concerned with. Is it safe to use vinegar? Will possible residue from the viegar cause harm to my tank? Any info or assistance would be great
Thanks

Just rinse it off well and you'll be fine. You can do this with cleaning powerheads too.....just soak them, wipe them down and rinse....should look like new.

Maybe use a 3 or 4 to one ratio mix of water to vinegar when soaking.

I carry mine to the bath tub to keep the mess to a minimum. The shower head, razor blade and vinegar clean it well.

Remove them :) That's the best way to prevent them from getting dirty and helps with C02 exchange and heat build up.

Well if you remove them. Make sure you dont have any "jumpers"

I removed mine. They seemed like way too much trouble. They also seemed to filter some light.

Agreed, but there are ways around that if you have a canopy you can use net or the little plast square things that go over flour. lights in offices to cover holes in your canopy.
