The other day I asked about where to get replacement bulbs for the PC I have over my fuge as I thought the problem was in the bulbs. It turns out that the bulb - or at least on of the bulbs - is working fine but there appears to be a problem with the light itself. Any suggestions on a replacement? Anyone have a cheap light they could part with to place above my fuge? Please let me know. Thanks.

What size fixture you need Rob?

If it's not the bulb then it is the ballast, cord or light socket. Maybe wiring issues.

Lost Marbles - its probably the wiring as I have gotten it to work in the past by smacking it but that no longer works and I'm tired of messing with it so I think I just want to get another light and not worry about it.

sirreal63 - The current light is about 36" long but I don't think I need one that big - just big enough to keep the small portion of my sump/fuge that is full of chaeto lighted. Any thoughts? Thx.

If you decide to stay with 36", I have a Finnex T-5 and 4 Tek reflectors you can have for 125.00. I also have a 36" Oceanic PC 2x55 you can have for 50.00 (bulbs on both are 5 or 6 months old)

Those LOA fixtures put out a lot of light and grow macro great.

Mayoboy - I might be interested in the Oceanic.

DrBDC - I'm probably parading my ignorance but what does LOA mean? I'm familiar with Leave of Absence but I'm guessing that isn't what you were referring to.

Thx.

Rob, Lights of America. Home Depot Carries them relatively cheap and they put out a surprising amount of light for 65 watts. The color temp of the bulb is 6500K.

I have an extra one for 10 bucks if you want one. I think they are about 30-40 new but you'd want to put a new bulb which are about 14 so by the time you drive out to Ballwin it would be cheaper to go to your local home depot.

Great! Thanks for explaining. I'll stop by and snag one of those.
