while looking on fins reef i saw a mag.media that can be added to a reactor and wanted to know how well this works from someone already useing it.does it raise mag. level or just maintain? what is the optimum ph level in your reactor?and what else if anything does it add when it dissolves?

Hi Greg, The magnesium granuals are pure mag as far as I know. It is meant to mantain levels and not raise it. I think optimal PH in the rx. is 6.5-6.8

The MG media is more to maintain your levels. If they are below 1000, you will need to adjust to around 1300 first and then it will keep it maintained.
I am using a H&S Rx and Media with about 10% of the Mg. I urn my ph at ~ 6.3 to 6.5. Not all Rx media's can tolerate that low of a PH, but the Mg gran works better at a PH of 6.5 or lower. Hopefully some more users will chime in for you.
