also known as a vaccum pump, a dosing pump, does it take air tubing, suck in form one tube, then put out through another?

i have a u tube wiht a nipple on it for a pump, just wantd to make sure it will work

The pump sucks the air out of the siphon tube to prevent the siphon from being broken. It will take air or fluid into the intake port of the pump and discharge it through the outflow. You need to connect usually airline tubing to the nipple and into the intake. Then a tube connected to the outflow is directed either into the opposite side of the overflow or into the sump.
