I am going to build myself a Ca Reactor and I am trying to decide if I should get a PH controller or not. I definatly want to get a regulator with a solenoid, but I am not sure if its worth it to get the controller or not. I am not super worried about the PH of the efluent, I am more concerned with the PH of the tank. I figure I could just use a PH probe to occasionally measure the PH of the effluent, but I dont forsee haveing to constantly monitor it. Please give me your opinions on this...

Also I am thinking of getting the Milwaukee MA957 Regulator and the SMS122 Controller. Any issues with these?

Some will tell you it's imperitive to have a pH controller. I will tell you that we've run a Ca reactor with outstanding success for over 4 years without one and don't intend on putting one on our 225g system.

I measure the pH at two locations (effluent from chamber #1, effluent from chamber #2) about every month just to make sure everything is in check.
