hey if you really like em then you can gamble but if you want a reef / coral tank more than anything else dont bother. get something that will never eat your corals. some people develope thier tank around these guys. in otherwords if you add a coral and he picks at it then you remove it and never get that type of coral again. your coral purchases will be dictated by the angel in the futur so if y9ou had your heart set on a particular coral you may be dissapointed.

another important thing to look for when purchasing these fish is getting a non chemically caught specimen. those that are caught with poision/chemicals have a gareenteed death rate at 2 months always. lots of distributers will let you know if its caught with or without these chemicals.

It was hard to catch him in the act he would take little pecks at the mantle.I don't know why they do this.I have many corals yet he would go after the clams. It took about 2 to 3 months and they died.I was ****ed.

very common behavior.they never tend to destroy acoral over night but slowly kill it off. makes most think it something else thats killing the coral like water quality.

yes I couldn't figure it out my friends clam was doing so well everthing was going well.I can keep any coral and I know what I am doing. It was bugging me as to why the clams would die.The bastard was sneaky he would slightly pick and it wasn't often.I didn't have time to sit there and stare to find out what was going on.I went to the clam forum and listed my fish.

yeah i think if you keep corals you have to be very selective about the fish you add... coral is a staple to a lot of fish in the wild

ReefD I would second that. I was going to get on but didnt, since I got into this hobby for the reef tank. My mom has one she has no problems with it but I dont wanna chance it. I know if I got one I would get the one that eats everything and with a tank full of polyps umm no I think Ill pass. I would never be able to catch him to take him out and would end up getting angry. So I just dont think it is worth it. I do love the flame angels but If I wanna see one I will visit my mother.

Mine is a SOB the only fish I reget getting, Even though it is very awsome looking fish. It has picked at my clam and my LPS plates. If I ever take out the rock for any reason I will take the fish out. Until then I am putting in corals to suit the fish, Seemed easier.

Great looking fish, but I don't trust em w/ my xenias. They've picked some of them to death before, so now I don't own any.
