Cleaning PVC?

I have two questions concerning using PVC.

1. Is regular PVC cleaner and glue OK to use?

2. Is there some special way to clean the pipe and fittings before you put them on the tank?

Yes use regular PVC cleaner, Primer and Glue.

You can skip the cleaner if you want... but it surely can not hurt.

Once your joints are dry you can use the plumbing, there is no real need to "wash it out", but it will not hurt if you do. You could use a little bit of vineger or bleach (be aware that the bleach will then have to be washed out and evaporated, so it is not a real good idea either).

In other words, glue the pipe, let it dry and use it, forget about washing it out.
