As you can see here, the RXT models are considered for flow, while the RZT is pressure. Hope this helps :)

Pressure rated pumps can move liquids further distances than non-pressure rated pumps as the diagram above shows.

nice question, wish the answers were a little more descriptive LOL.
now, why aren't all pumps just built to be pressure rated?
is there 2 different applications for 2 different flow rates?
the propellers are built different correct?
I know the answers, just wanna see whom can add to this

They all aren't pressure rated because they aren't meant to be. .:confused:

Every pump design has a specific use. If you want a 1000 gph pump @ 10ft head, and don't want it to come out like a fire hose (and not use probably 3x the wattage) you would probably use a flow-type pump. That same wattage motor in all probability could also provide 400 gph @ 45' with an impeller designed for that purpose in addition to shrinking the output diameter.
