I will be moving part of my DSB from my 46 to the sandbed in my 120. Unfortantly the only part I want is the finner sand, not the Crushed coral. Can anyone think of a way to get the finner sand but not the CC? Obviously a little CC is not bad, but i want the majoity to be the finner sand. Thanks

use a net to get the cc out then all you have left is sand. Obviously, the finer the net....

Run it through a large kitchen strainer that has screen. Mix up two gallons of new saltwater to wash the finer sand through the strainer. When your done put the fine sand plus the, now mucky, new saltwater into the new tank. That way the life that is suspended in the water is not lost.

Its not gonna smell nice... hope youre good at holding your breath.

Well the tank it is going into already has a sand bed. This is just going to make it slightly deeper. Do you still think I should poor that gunk in the water? Obviously I don't want to lose the life, but since there is already some in the tank I am not sure if it is worth the nasties traped in the sand bed. Does that make sence?
