Hi Reefers.
My tank was nice and stable until I added a few frags and a clown goby. I saw the goby for a few seconds then he retreated for a hiding place. I haven't seen him and my levels just when crazy. My ammonia is up, along with my nitrate. I think the goby died and thats whats resulting in my spike. (I can't even find him)

Whats the best way to recover? All I've done is a 20% water change.

Thanks.

try to find goby....keep doing water changes ...maybe 10% everyother day.....it'll stabilize soon...no need to freak....

If your other fish, inverts etc. are acting normal, I wouldn't worry. I've had fish die and ammonia spikes, but every other fish was fine. I just hated seeing my hermit crabs eating a more expensive meal than myself ;)

just keep doing water changes...20%, 10%, 10%, 10% then wait a couple days and do a second 20% after 7 days and you should be fine.

could just be a spike from adding the fish. Everytime you add something you go through another small cycle.

Amquel Plus is good as a temporary aid if ammonia is a problem. What was the ammonia level before and after the addition?
