Question about Pentair Seahorse pump

This pump is described as self priming. Does that mean that it can be mounted above the water surface and it would draw water up into the chamber? If so, does anyone know what head it can self prime? Thanks . . . Dave

depends on which pump. go to pentairs site and take a look. the one i have will prime up to 8' above water. this is only if you have the strainer pot full of water to create suction though.
i dont reccomend any pump above water for the obvious reasons though.
