Now that it looks like I can finally go to one, I'm planning on going. So long as nothing comes up between now and then.

Ok, when is it? Where is it at? And how do you guy know about these meetings?? Stupid here is missing something somewhere along the threads I just know.

I have seen no evidence that Nic has rectified his own morality issues and that will prevent my attending. It is a shame, I like the guy, I just cannot support a meeting in his establishment.

I hope we don't start going down that trail again.

That being said, if I don't buy anything there or suggest to anyone else to go there and buy anything, then I don't feel as though I'm "supporting" the business. I am going to spend time with others in this club, meet new members or those interested, have some fun and/or interesting conversations, and hopefully learn something while I'm there.

Kurt,

I'm all better now that my other personalities have been integrated. OH, the meds helped too! :D

sirreal63
03/10/2006, 08:10 PM
Dave...I would hope that anyone who wishes to attend would do so. Nic does know what he is doing with propagation and is more than willing to share that with anyone who wishes to learn. What you may learn about propagation is valuable.

I take nothing away from his knowledge and experience and you will leave the meeting with a lot of that knowledge.

StupidsReef
03/10/2006, 08:18 PM
Well, beings I am a new-bie I will be there to try and learn as much as I can. And to put faces to names.

geoxman
03/10/2006, 08:23 PM
you will learn MUCH ABOUT fragging zoos and other softies. Nic has alot of different ideas/experiments with fragging and lighting

Ocicat
03/10/2006, 08:43 PM
Not sure... It seems like it might be a bit early for me to learn about fragging since it'll be summer before I even have any corals in my tank (or water for that matter!), but it might be interesting. Too bad I don't still live in U City or I'd walk; I think he is like 5 blocks from my old house.

They said that they are instituting an electronic ballot which should be in effect for next years election. I believe Tom (Goalie) is the only nomination for exec. officer so he's a shoe in I guess. I won two cool corals in the auction! A blue tort and and a yellow pocillapora!! Both pretty good sized too.

The meeting was attended by 35 local (and a few not so local) reefkeepers. During the business portion of the meeting nominations were made for the elections to be held next month. Tom Gibbons was nominated for the executive officer position but I don't have the others. Several lucky attendees won corals in the raffles and we learned all we could about zoos from the host. All in all it was a great meeting.

Heck yes I won!!! Got some some sweet zoos with an orange skirt, gold center with neon pink and green markings all around the rings... I'll get pics later but yes it was a sweet meeting, sucks for those who couldn't make it but good odds for me! and now I know why I have algae in my tank... crappy coral food. I personally contribute it to my zoo poo but I guess that means their happy. :D

I went, Learnt, I joined Seals, I traded & sold 1 55g drum each and I put faces to a few names. I met these 2 really goofy dudes too, Farmer & Fade32! J/k. Nice to get to meet both of you! :D

I have no prior meetings so I can't compare. It was nice to get to meet the folks though. And Nic seemed to be very knowable on most of the topics brought up. I did disagree with some of his opinions. But hey that what its all about right.

Congrats on those who won the items, and to Tom.

While I know many of you were at the March Meeting this weekend I was unable to attend as I was engaged in a titanic struggle to ensure that Lady Justice was served in a local matter in which I was a judge. No, not a Circuit or Associate Circuit Judgeship but rather I was selected to participate in judging a local beauty pageant. Now as someone that has not been a big fan of such events in the past it was a bit odd to be asked to engage in such an activity but let me just say from the heart that there are a lot worse things a fellow could do on a Saturday than sitting front row whilst several very beautiful women prance back and forth in skimpy swimsuits! But seriously, I must confess that I was actually quite impressed with how these young ladies conducted themselves in the interview evaluation portion of the program – I had half expected them to be of limited intelligence and rather shallow but it turned out that I was the shallow one for having had such a prejudice.

I do have one complaint, however, about the overall process. Based upon my only experience or knowledge of pageants coming from movies I naturally expected a little blackmail and intrigue! Some cash bribes to line my pocket! Numerous offers of “services” from the contestants in exchange for my vote! But nary a one! No sex! No cash! Nothing! I was left having to vote based strictly upon the talents and qualities of the women! I guess in order to get in on the good stuff you have to be a judge at a higher level!

As they say, it was a tough job but someone had to do it! – Just glad it was me! :D

hmmmm....I was surrounded by the "beauty" of chadfarmer, fade, hobbes, and a few others, so maybe not comparable. :hmm2:

Oh wait, Lisa and Kathy were there!

But were they wearing hot pink bikinis and high heels? :)

If they were, then I have to make more of an effort to get to these meetings in the future! :)

Just to clarify - I was asking if Lisa and Kathy were wearing bikinis and high heels. If you tell me that chadfarmer, fade or hobbes were wearing bikinis and high heels I want to know that too but just so that I don't ever show up for such a meeting! While I respect them for the SW knowlwedge I'm not into that other stuff! Yyeghch!
