This one looks wierd. It popped up after battling the Red Slime.

I'm not sure how to combat this one.

System:
130 FOWLR.
PC lighting that is being changed out (1/2 now and 1/2 in a couple of weeks)
Sump with 20-25 gallon fuge (2 micro algaes)

Lights stay on for about 9-10 hrs...

It's only on the substrate... It popped up in 3 days time.

i started with Phosban... I use RO/DI water...

VERY odd...

I'll start plucking and see what else I can do

Hair algae is a "turf" algae. Don't let the terms confuse you, as it encompasses a wide variety of relatively unrelated algal species. I suppose a better term for any "turf" algae would be periphytonic overgrowth.

I think people refer to it as turf but there is different types. My boss has a green turf algae that is tough to pull off and actually feels like a thin cut turf.

It can if there are excess nutrients in the tank.
