Hello I have a 10 gallon aquarium. Currently I have a 28 watt cf fixture with a 50/50 bulb and a 18 watt fluorescent fixture with a 10K bulb.

how does the above system sound? I am only interested in growing mushroom corals, and xenia, and some polyps.

Should be good for your softies, my roomate is running the CF fixture with the 50/50 and his Xenias seem to be doing fine. I would not place them in deep water though. I would try to place them between the middle or top. I am currently running a Current USA Satellite Dual (80 watts) over my 10 gallon and I have been able to keep mushrooms, polyps, xenias, and I even have a Crocea on the bottom. Whenever faced with this question I always recommend about 3-5 watts per gallon. I could be off in these numbers though.
