Title says it all, except I don't want a copperband. looking for something a little more colorful and uncommon.

pics would be great

Marine center has a Marginalis Butterfly listed. Looks like a CBB minus several stripes.

Marginalis and tinkerii are the only ones i have seen documented as reef safe to an extent all others have been labeled polyp eaters.

im looking into a large angel butterfly tank and i wont be having anything in with my fish as the butterflys will grow nice on the corals

but i may buy a few colony's for them to chew on anyway

nothing like natural food source.

How about a Bluestripe Butterfly? (Chaetodon fremblii)

Tinkers, Mitradus, declivis have been reef safe in my experience.

How about?

Yellow Pyramid Butterfly - Hemitaurichthys polylepis

This butterfly feeds on plankton in the wild, so probably pretty safe in reef.

I've had a longnose butterfly in a 75 gallon mixed reef for two years with no problems. Once in a blue moon he'll nip at a clam mantle since he's frequently foraging for copepods but other than that he's a model citizen. Of course each individual may be different.
