testing Test equipment at March meeting

Someone recently had the idea of bringing test equipment to monthly meetings. For two reasons that appears to be a great idea:
1. the host will get confirmation of tank stats
2. the testers can validate their equipment

How about doing this on Saturday? I would bring my pH meeter and could also bring the salinity equipment ( refractometer)

So, if we test for pH and the equipment has the same readings, we are all good! If we test and a fraction of equipment reads differently, those may be wrong. If all equipment reads differently, we either should give up testing or taste test for similar accuracy!

Hey...that sounds like a good idea... :D
...assuming its ok with the host.

I can bring my pH Checker (POC :rolleyes: ) and pH standards (don't really use it much anymore) and refractometer.

Is anyone else up for the idea? The equipment shouldn't really weigh a whole lot?

I'm game for the testing. (as I clench my teeth hoping my nitrates aren't through the roof!)
