We are working very hard to release the fixtures for sale. They should be available within the next few weeks. Pricing will be on our site shortly and at that time we will be taking more pre-orders.
As for the ballast, it has three workhorse 7 ballasts and one workhorse 5. The individual reflectors are our computer designed ones that we use in our 36" T5 fixtures. The material is the 95% reflectivity Miro IV aluminum. The 72" fixture will have 14 individual reflectors. That's 7 rows of 2 lamps, all 39W T5s. There is 3 power cords / switches. One switch will power 2 rows, another powers 2 rows, and the third switch powers three rows. This way you have greater control over your lighting. Also, it will have two fans for active cooling.
We will have more info and pictures once the fixture is released.
Thank you,
Tom

ARE THE T5'S REALLY POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR REEFERS?

Charles,
Yes, these T5 fixtures are powerful enough for reefers.

Yes, they are available and on the website. Both under the product page and Online Store. Here's a link to the 72" T5 fixture's page ( 72" T5 HO Fixture (http://www.aquactinics.com/Products/72_T5_HO_Systems.htm) )
Here's the link to the Online Store where the fixture listed ( T5 HO Fixtures (http://www.aquactinics.com/Store/T5_HO_Lighting_Systems.htm) )

Tom, I have been trying to figure out lighting for my new tank. IT is a 72 inch tank, so your fixture interests me. My biggest question is, is there a significant difference in PAR between have 2 39 watt bulbs end to end, and having 1 80 watt bulb?
We have 2 of 3 tanks lit with T5s now, but with our new 72X30X24 we have been frustrated by all the possibilities. Do you make them with fewer than 14 bulbs, as I believe I will need more than 14, but not sure if I need 28. It will be an LPS dominant tank, with a few clams.
Also, I have heard some about the workhorse ballasts, but how does it stack up to the Icecap 660 in terms of electric use and driving the bulbs?

Thanks. But I don't have room for the fixture. I only have 11.75" of space. I wish I had the room. Oh, well I will keep looking.

No, there isn't a significant difference in PAR levels. 1 80W T5 is more intense (slightly), but 2 39W T5s end to end will give you a better spread of light. With 80W T5s, you would have to stagger the lamps and the ends would not be as bright as the middle. Also, this way you have an even greater control over your lamp combinations.

Our 14 lamp fixture sitting directly on your tank will be more then enough for your LPS and clam tank. If you wanted fewer then 14 lamps, you could get two of our 36" fixtures, each with 5 39W T5s, but our 72" fixture will be more then enough for you to keep what you want.
Also, I have heard some about the workhorse ballasts, but how does it stack up to the Icecap 660 in terms of electric use and driving the bulbs?
The workhorse ballast will drive the T5s at their correct wattage while the IceCap ballast will overdrive the lamps. The IceCap ballast will obviously make the lamps more intense, but use more energy too. It's hard to compare the two since they are not the same type of ballast.
Thank you,
Tom

Inkman,
If space is an issue, there are two other options. Option 1, you could get two 36" T5 fixtures ( 9.5" wide ) and run them end to end. Option 2, our 72" MH/T5 fixtures are only 10" wide and again will not directly heat your water
Thank you,
Tom

But wouldn't running two 36" fixtures side by side block the fans? Just a thought.

Inkman,
You can put two of the 36" fixtures back to back were the intakes are facing each other and have a small gap between the two. This way both fixtures will stay cool and you can light up your tank.
Thank you,
Tom
