Been using IO since the price is right. I really like the Red Sea but can not find it at a resonable price. Also like the TM but it is always over priced. I can buy 320g mix of IO with money left over for the price of 150g of TM

Oceanic. never tried any other type, but really can't say that Oceanic ever caused any problems. extra Ca is pretty sweet?

chirocato: :D good one. I like yours better. lol
Just switched to Reef Crystals. Much more calcium than IO, which I had used for 3 years. FOWLR, I'd go back to IO. Reef, I'll stick with Reef Crystals.

Instant Ocean. I have to supplement Mg and Ca, but the mix is very consistent and clean, no problems.

I use Seachem Reef Salt. However, I was fortunate to take a behind the scenes tour of the Georgia Aquarium last week. They have a 6 million gallon "ocean" tank in addtion to a ~170,000 gallon reef tank. Guess which salt they use?
Yep. You guessed it.
Good, old fashioned -- IO.
I saw pallets and pallets of HUGE bags of the stuff.
I think I will switch back

Oceanic now. Great salt!
I used to use Crystal Sea Marinemix and it was fine for my Fish Only tank. When I switched to a reef I couldn't keep the SPS from dying. I switched to Oceanic and it started to thrive and virtually came back from the dead. I also couldn't keep the Chaeto from dying until I switched. No sure if it was a coincidence, but I'm not switching now. HTH

Thanks for voting boys and girls......... I have just heard some much controversy about salt was just wondering which way to go as I am getting ready to get it all fired up and want to start and stick with one salt............. But alas there seems to be much contro about everything and anything reef related drives me nuts :)

I use tropic marin almost exclusively. I started using IO but then I would test consistently low levels of magnesium with really reduces the potential of your water to hold alkalinity.

I've been usings Reef Crystals, but recently switched to Tropic Marin Pro. It has a lower ALK reading but is meant to be used with CA reactors.

I thought it had higher levels of buffer and calcium.
