I am planning on buy a hammerhead return pump for my 360gl and was just going a little research on them and noticed there are a lot of different pictures of them. Is there a new model and older model or something. Please help me out. Thanks alot

Old ones have blue volute. Newer ones have black.

The older blue volutes were prone to cracking if overtightened. On newer pics, you'll see a black volute.

That picture looks old as well. Spazz has been in contact with Sequence (for the Dart NW project) and I believe he is the one who reported that the newer models have a black volute.

Newer ones are made differently than the old. The old ones were designed so you could switch out the baldor motor if needed, the new ones you can't do this as easily. There are not any cooling fins on the new motors, and yes, the new ones have the black wet end.

So which is better. The old Model?

All of them have a baldor motor, it's just that the newer ones don't make it easy at all to swap out the motor if it goes bad. The older ones witha black wet end are the better ones, but the newer ones are not bad either.
