Ummm...First off, I don't think that's a Zoo. I think it looks like a Cup Coral.

It is sliming because you stressed it. They are known to do that. If your water quality is good, and you leave it alone, it should be fine by tomorrow.

Thanks for the quick response. I figured it was because of stress. A cup coral hey? What are those all about? The guy at the lfs said it was a zoo but i don't trust those people as far as i could throw them. I usually just go there to try and find things they may have mismarked for a good price so maybe i found one. My next post was going to be for an ID but hopefully you peggedd it

Definitly not Zoos, I also agree that it looks like a healthy frag of a cup coral.

This definetly is no frag, the photo is not even of half the coral. The thing is probably 7 inches long and 6 inches tall and the polyps span both sides. I wonder if I got a deal on this thing. Anyone know how much these typically go for?

So i just look this up in book and I think we have a cup coral here. It states that it will need adequete feeding for survival. So....What do i feed it

I just feed mine when I dose Phyto plankton. They like light and medium water flow.

They suck up all the chemicals in the water. You might visit the SPS forum area to learn about these hard corals. That's a good one---frag, yes, because they can get pretty large. You may want to branch out into the stony corals; you may want to trade it to someone in your area who has them. Certain ones have 'sweeper tentacles' you have to watch in placing them; I don't think this one does, but look at it after dark after it's been acclimated, and you may see changes. They're just a whole different sort of creature, and interesting in their own way. I don't think this one would bother your zoos---I have both---but it will have somewhat different requirements.

It's a Pagoda for sure. Put it in decent light and have moderate flow going over it. They will take target feedings of well-chopped mysis and when they are in good condition, their a great addition to a reef. Here are two:
