nice - i have that HQI fixture too... it is nice. You might want to concider doing this mod to it. It make all the difference in the way it sits over your tank:

what type of tank is that and what brand VHO do you have? I have the same pendant and was looking for some actinic supplement. I love the pics!

Oh and the tank is a 30 gallon 24x24x12 just a standard tank, with no overflow. Just a hang on back skimmer, particle filter and the lighting you see there. And of course a regular supplement of calcium and other trace elements.

and if you don't mind 30gal. . . the fixture brand and how you mounted it. It's def. the fix I'm looking for!

well, i took some cheap chain and took some eye hooks and mounted them to both the hood and the ceiling. Then taking the hood with the eye hooks installed, take two S clips and attach them to the top and bottom of the chain, (at the desired length and there you have it.)

When I get a chance tomorrow, I'll post a topic about it for ya man, and give you the info on the bulbs and what-not.

thanks for your interest, I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.

I'm interested in what the brand name of the 18' VHO fixture you have. Where can I buy it?

I actually home made this fixture, bought the ballasts and adapters at a LFS and brought them home used an old hood and did all the necessary work myself.
