well, i might go scuba diving at the barrier reef this summer, and i definatly want a good underwater camera to take with me. What would you suggest, i will probably sell it after my trip, but i want to have something reliable that is proven and will work, thanks dan

well, I would recommend just a very basic one to start with, so that you don't have to invest all that money in a nice one and break it in the water...
of course unless you have a lot of money then it wouldn't be a problem..

I have always used the disposable ones. I think they are good to 30ft.

you can get cases for most bodies for like $1000+ that are really cool looking =)
i have absolutely no experience with them at all, nor have i seen any photos produced with them, but im guessing they dont limit the camera inside, except with which lenses you can use

Yea, depending on how nice your camera is now (if you have one), just buy a case for it.... I looked up one for my Cannon Powershot and it was like 150$ or something.
Better than buying some 1000$-2000$ underwater camera.
I bought one of those disposable underwater ones and it did an OK job. I was snorkling andi t was hard to keep steady, so maybe when you scuba you do a better job, but you have to usually get close and keep steady to get a nice picture.

ok i have a cannon powershot right now so, i will get a case for it, im just so afraid that it might leak and ruin my camera or something.
