aquaclear 110 work as biological filter for QT?

I have a aquaclear 110 (500gph) back filter that has the noodle bio thingers in it for biological filtration. Would these be adequete, or to much even to use on a 10-15 gallon QT tank? The flow can be reduced down to about 300gph I think it is.

Sure, this would make a fine biological filter if/when run on the main display for several weeks to seed it with beneficial bacteria.
