View Full Version : Removing tape residue from inside tank?

Hey all, apologize if this is in the wrong Forum, firstly.

That being said, I was given a tank tonight (A lidless 12G Nanocube) that I intend to use for one of my mantis shrimp (A P. cilata, a non-smasher, so no worries regarding the glass walls...).

However, there seems to have been some tape stuck inside, probably to secure the plastic wrapping that covered the whole tank(?).
What does one do to remove this in a safe manner, or is it really even a problem? I started to scrape it off with my fingernail, but it sort of rolls around and doesn't really lift off.

Any help appreciated.

try rubbing alcohol.

Like TekCat said, use a razor to scrape off the actual tape and rubbing alcohol (on a paper towel will work) to remove the 'stickum'.

Allow the alcohol to dry and rinse (to err on the safe side)... you're ready to go.
