Ive heard some stories about how difficult table across are..is this true or a myth?.. Are they as "difficult" as any other acros?..do they have "special" needs?.. The are stunning and ive been wanting to try one for a while but im holding back until i get the real facts.. Thanks guys!!

They are more difficult to keep simply because they require the flow to be very precise IME. But if you ar elooking to try one make sure you start off with a frag so it takes to your tank easier and will adjust to your tank's flow as it grows.

Are the high flow..high light?... I had a gorgeous A. sarmentosa..and they are "tableish"..Highflow killed it..i suck when it comes to guessing the coral's need..

They require strong gentle flow and high light.

Thanks!! Would 250 watters do? or do they need 400's??..Also, is there an easier kind??

lighting all depends on the tank placement

True. Well, my tank is a 125..long..so its shallow..I guess if i put it somewhere in the middle it should do good..

Definitely go with a frag for these species.

I have tried 3 wild frags, 2 of them RTN'd. I would like to find some tank raised frags to try.

I have both pink and Green Hyacinthus, but i dont ship. I got them as aquacultured frags. You can Try **********.com

Do you have a pic of the hyacinthus. I has a small pink one too. The growth on it is next to non-existant. So some pointer would be cool.

Diego,

If you ever make it to Austin I have five different tabling acros all very cool. You might check with Brian, I think he has a few of mine also.

40X turnover returns and SEIOs. I am in the process of upgrading and switching over to a 150G RR BB and the flow should be steep. I have other Acro like a couple robustas and a mystrey frag, and a birdnest that all like the tank but the hyacinthus hasn't grown a bit in 6 months.
What kinda of flow does yours like?

Mine sit on the top third of the tank and they get most of the return from the Seaswirls. But if you can set your pumps on a wavemaker that would be great flow for them.

I have 6 tables in my 180 under 250's with flow from tunzees. The red Hyacinthis seem to grow the best for me.

I do not have a camera but will try to get my brother over to take pic's. I believe the big red is aprox. 16 inches front to back and widest point of widgth about 10 inches. The smaller one which I frag often is about 5 x 8, also had a 3rd but fragged it. This table has been tanked aprox. 12 years and everybody that I sold frags to seem to do fine with them.

I have an A. Latistella growing very well on the bottom third of my tank. It was purchased as a frag. Mother colony was collected at 60' in Fiji. The frag has done very well adopting a nice tabling shape. It really depends on the kind of acro. Hyacinthus requires high flow and lighting. However others, such as the A. Latistella, will tolerate lower amounts of both and still grow into a nice, compact table like form. This particular colony is a bright neon green w/ purple tips.

Here is my hyacinthus . IMO these are the hardest to keep of the table acros . Mine needs to be blasted by light and needs lots and lots of flow here is a pic.
