can you post a pic? I have a few dozen of what you are describing. They came out of no where and I have been removing one a night

They must have come from Stephen's rock, I cant post pictures I wish I could but Google Scutus Sp. and it should pull up a few pics and info. Carrie

I bet it is not scutus. It is propably the black variant stomatella.

I have to agree with Benni. It's probably some variety of Stomatella, kinda like a slug with a backpack shell.

ya I have tons of them and have no clue what they are. Are they reef safe? Carrie and myself have the same LR (from Steve) I am up to 20 of these things now. I just throw them in the sump

This one I have is not a stometella, this one is bigger and has the little white shell that goes under the folds of skin on top, At first, I didnt see the little shell thing but at closer examination it was there. I am positive it is the Srutus. I have seen a couple black stometella's in there also though. I wanted to be sure it wasnt a predator so I double checked.
Thanks, Carrie
