I just got a free 270 gallon glass aquarium from my brother and someone commented it looked like a Perfecto aquarium. I am wondering if "Perfecto" = a poorly built aquarium or if it is a good one to use and trust. Pics below:

Perfecto is the cheapest of the tank manufac. companies, that said most are all tempered from what I can remember. Does that make it a bad tank? No, it does not. One Thing I would be sure to either double check or replace, would be the top braces, and the silicone seams.
I think you're good to go.

The top braces are in perfect condition with no cracks and all the seams are in perfect order. Should I still replace the top braces? No cracks or breaks at all.

I have had a 120 gallon perfecto for over 8 years now with no problems. I think with your top braces looking good and seams too it should be fine. IIRC, most Perfecto tanks over 100 gallons only have a tempered bottom pane. To be sure contact Perfecto manufacturing to check yours. Here's a link to them: http://www.perfectomfg.com/ .
BTW- Congratulations on getting a free 270 :D.

Indeed, If both look good I wouldn't think twice about it personally, except what it's gonna cost me equipment wise !
