Hi, A couple of questions:
I am starting a 30 gal. cube soon. I was looking at the calculator for overflows and it gives the required measurement in linear inches. I believe for 600 gph it says 9" min. Does that mean measured along the top notched portion of the overflow or the depth of the overflow? We are considering a small surface skimmer type box about 6" across and 2" deep by 6 " in height which would feed a 1" dia. pipe down to the sump. I was thinking an Eheim 1260 up to a SQWD with a return on each side of the tank. Would that skimmer box be able to handle 600 gph flow? My little nano cube skimmer handles almost 250 gph and it's not nearly as large so I was hoping a small surface skimmer box would work.
Can an Eheim pump be adjusted using a ball valve without damage from back pressure?
Thanks - Laurie
