I am going to be in Daytona with my 96 Impala SS on the speedway turn 3, (look for the big SS tent) . If anyone is going, stop by and have a cold one with me if you can.

No man, that's my kid haulin ride. I am talking about my baby- the 96 black garage queen. It's the other obsession I have besides the fish.
If only I could post darn pics on here.....

Sad, chevy waited until the 96 model SS to get it right, then they drop it. Carrie, is your SS black on black?

this little baby is going to make my reef tank a 2nd or 3rd priority for a long time

Now THE question. Will they build it? Dodge has really come a long way.
This is at the top of my list http://www.svt.ford.com/gt500/index.html

they will, too much demand for these cars today. the new Mustang, new Camaro(2008-9 release), and that ugly charger is selling like hot cakes. I saw a 1970 challenger go for 100k on that tv car auction channel. But If it dosent look like that concept I am not buying
and yes 96 was the last good year of the newer impala

Alright dodge! I really wanted a 96 impala, but the prices on a nice one, ouch. That car is just mean, especially in black.

the price on the shelby gt500 ouch. its got to be atleast 50k

Yup. Maybe I will scale back a little bit. Dodge has a nifty little caliber srt4 coming out this fall. 300hp, respectible gas mileage, room for four adults, 25000 give or take, and did I mention 300hp.

the challenger will be in that price range also I think it tops out around 30k. I also never buy new cars. I wait until I find what I want used with 20k miles or less and buy an extended warranty. As soon as you drive your new car off the lot the value drops bigtime.

I am Ford Fan, but that Dodge is sweeeeeeett

I also only buy fords. My last 2 cars/trucks were fords and I love them, but I was not happy with the new mustang and the corvette is still out of my price range for now ,and the corvette that I want is the z06, (there really is no other vette)
The challenger as shown really looks like a 70's challanger, not a blend of today and yesterdays design like the new mustang is. THe only thing I do not like about dodge is that daimlerchrysler tries to pass their engine off as a "hemi" which it is not

That challenger is cool, it kinda looks like a 69 camaro and a barracuda. Paul, Impalas only came in 3 colors and all of them have grey inside. Mine is black with Boyd Coddington rims and custom Rockford Fosgate stereo stuff. See you gotta come by my place sometime. In Brunswick I won 2 trophies- best of show!! and best interior last year :D

Carrie,
You have to post a pic of your car. If you can't shoot me a pm and I will give you an email address to send it to and I will post it for you.
I am a ford guy as well, I love my 96 cobra. Nevermind that my wife drives a chrvy trailblazer. Sadly though, the new cobra is going to be a little bit out of my price range. To think I have been waiting for a new cobra to come out for so long. I may just have to get something else.

I like the 2003-04 cobra myself

That may be what I end up looking at. Like you said, just get the extended warrenty. Oh yeah, just hope the dealer inspects the car before selling the warrenty. My warrenty was voided due to modifications that were actually done to the car before I bought it.

I'm a Mustang guy, here was my baby for 4 years, RIP on I-10. It cost me a few girls because it got too much attention... lol I polished it atleast every other week, more during show season, and was always doing something to it.

I love the 96 Mystic Cobra, that paint all polished up is AMAZING to say the least. Wish I still had it in me, I would come check it out. But I cant right now, I have recently bought a 2006 Suzuki Hayabusa Limited and a 2004 Yamaha Raptor 660R, so I'm not allowed anymore toys for awhile. :-(

Somebody has a little bit of an addiction. When you go for speed, you really go all out. The question is how fast does the Hayabusa really go?

Hyabusa, wow I think its around 200 mph. I think the only one that will keep up with it in the strightwaway is the new Kawasaki zx14r--some say. I have never riden either, but just read stories
