rubbing himself against things really fast...flashing..can't beleive you've never heard that one before...can be real common in FW fish that have external parasites...but since Im new to SW fish..not sure whats going on with him.

I have never heard of "flashing" be used like that before to. But anyway, it could be ich or velvet, it just might be too small to see it right away. Is this fish in a QT?

Well, I am familier with what he is doing, but never heard it called flashing, just here it refered to as scratching.

Flashing sounds more like a color display or pose, such as in mating rituals to me.

Sounds like he could have a parasite, the best thing to do would be to treat it in a quarintine tank.

I guess most sites about diseases call it scratching..but honestly the term flashing is the same thing.
so anyways..no hes not QT. What would I possibly treat him with if we don't know what he has.? just wait and see?

Well, if it were me, I would not treat the tank. What are you feeding? You may want to soak your food in garlic.

right now im feeding omega one veggie flakes and occasionally live brine shrimp. Should I get a food with garlic in the ingrediance or get a peice of raw shrimp and soak that and feed it?

Well, you can get food that has it, or get some frozen mysis and soak it.

Ok I will try the mysis, will this be ok for the chromis too? I assume whatever the yellowtail has its possible the chromis may have or get it too. I also have a coral banded shrimp, will he love the mysis with garlic?

I have yet to see a fish that doesn't like mysis.
