Manny, there is a club that meets and flies at Markham Park in Sunrise, maybe go there and check them out.

hey manny, my dad used to be really big into the RC planes, not as much anymore, but he still heads out to Markham pack every once and a while.

for your first plane, id definaetly look into the easier models to fly/handle. Piper cub is a classic begginer plane that flys easy. id probably head out to Markham, on a saturday or sunday morning, and try and talk to some guys to help you get started. or you can prob go to an RC store to get more info.

my dad shops at RC hobbies the most out of them all, very very help ful and he knows most of the guys there thats been there for years.
Its next to bigals in tamarac.
anyhow good luck, RC planes is another expensive hobby, but he loves them.

first step.... go to hobby shop and buy real flight G3 http://www.realflight.com/ ..... play on computer for a while ... while doing this talk to people at local clubs like markham park.. once you buy a plane get a membership to the ama (Academy of Model Aeronautics) http://www.modelaircraft.org/ and practice practice practice.....deceleration trauma hurts the plane and your wallet .... I fly/flew rc heli's thats expensive

manny, I will be at markham around 1pm to 5pm.
look for the guy with the black cowboy hat.
we have a local club, heli club, but most of us own planes too, if you have any questions, come and ask at BCHPA (http://www.bchpa.com)

Get a trainer... I've seen too many grown men cry over a dirt dart. Go to RC World (next to Big Al's) They have a huge inventory, and are pretty helpful. Go for something less expensive to start with, that way if you crash it you won't cry too hard. It's an expensive hobby, I know, I've built 6 planes (only flew 2, people kept offering me good money for ones almost done.)

the 9chp/cap is an excellent choice.
the chp defaults to the heli menu, has the trainer switch on the other side and has no ratchet on the left stick.
if you ever consider to fly helis, this is the radio to buy and it is no problem to fly planes with it.
the cap defaults to planes and has a ratchet on the left stick, the ratchet can be taken out to fly helis later.

the radio you link to doesn't include the campac nor a frequency module.
go to servo city (http://www.servocity.com/html/9ch_super_systems.html)

the same radio with campac costs 270.00, but I would take it with a Synthesized Module for 330.00

That jet is awesome, but they're a handful. They are so fast that if you're not quick, they're gone.
