Quick baffle question

This might seem silly, but which way should the baffles go?

If we are looking at the proposed sump design from the side, then the bottom picture is the one you want. Remember, bubbles tend to rise, so the more times the water has to sink under a baffle, the fewer bubbles will make it through.

I found out the hard way that bubbles float. Use 2 up and one down (bottom picture). I think that you can actually have all three in the up position also.
