What kind of lights are you guys using for your refugium. I'm looking for some kind of power compact kit or something similar. Anybody know of where to get one?

Look at WalMart for an outdoor flood light fixture made by Lights of America and/or Fluorex. It is a 65w compact fluorescent with a kelvin rating of 6500k (Daylight). They are about $11. There is nothing better for the money IMO.

Nice. I will look for that. As long as I can get some Cheato growning I guess it would be fine.

I just ordered his recommended light, but I don't have it yet. The Home Depot here (Ft Lauderdale) has lights that look identical, but they don't list the color temp, so I ordered it from the link he provided.

Here is the exact bulb that is mentioned in the very extensive thread. People have had somewhat better growth with the 5100K bulb (which this is) over the 6500K. I've run it for the past year and just ordered a replacement for it.

Are you running that 24 hours a day or just while your tank lights are out?
