Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

This is a new sump I'm going to have built. Its inside measurements are 20"*20"*16" (27.7g) or 20"*20"*14" (24.2g) and it will be made out of 3/8" cast acrylic. I'm upgrading to a beckett skimmer that will have around 2000gph of water recirculating thru the sump. And there will be around 2500gph total running through the sump so I am concerned about bubbles. Here are a couple of drawings.

I'm thinking about enlarging the bubble towers to 5"*5", which would cause everything to get shifted; I'm not even sure if the bubble tower is the best idea. I'm probably going to have socks on the inside of the bubble tower but it would be nice to be able to eliminate bubbles w/o socks. Any ideas on how to help with the bubbles other than socks and sponges. Thanks.

I'm probably goin to sound stupid but what is a bubble tower?

Is that a tower that is going to feed the sump and is going to force the water down to the bottom??

If so... is the other one the return???

A bubble tower is just a box built into the sump or placed in the sump that is taller than the water level of the sump. The water plus bubble enters it and hopefully only the water exits the bottom while the air leaves from the top.

Those are two bubble towers so I can split the water coming into the sump.

I'm confused the top pic shows an extra baffle which is not needed.
