Need help w/ my new tank

I bought a 37 gallon tank today. It came with a Penguin 200 ( will not use) and crummy light. I need help getting together everything I need, which I am not sure what all I need.
So I need lots and lots of help!

What kind of tank will it be...reef or fish only? Is it a hex tank? What kind of filtration are you going to use...do you have room for a sump?

I am planning on a sump but I am unsure of how to set it up. I am going to have a reef w/ fish tank. It is almost a cube. It is going in wall, which is a closet we are converting. So I will open the door to the closet to do all of my work on the tank.

Do you want an insump pump or external? What about a protein skimmer? What kind of lighting will you be using? If metal halide, you will probably want to go with an external pump in order to cut down on heat issues. What dimensions are you working with? Do you want a refugium (advisable)?

If you can name off the equipment you currently have I think we can certainly aim you in the right direction.
