I have the same thing on some of my rocks, but mine appear to be attached to a tube. Someone ID'd a hydroid the other day for me as being a white thing stuck to my glass.

there are many types of hydroids. the ones usually on the glass are hydroid jellyfish(i dont know the sci. name) then theres many that grow on the LR.

the things in the pic in here look alot like some form of colonial sea anemone. real close to Epizoanthus couchii . google that and you should get a pic of two. its real hard to say 100% without a close up pic.

The colonial sea anemone is also what I have.

So are these good, or bad? Are they actually like a regular anemone?

i would say colonial anemones should be treated as aiptasia. im not a scientist though! :D my peperment shrimp wont even come out of the cave to look for aiptasia, but i would say its possible they would eat them if they are small enough. i perfer Joes Juice for unwanted anemones. works like charm everytime. but without a closer more clearer pic its hard to say if in fact they are not just some brown polyps.

Of course I know practically nothing about corals. These seem to have alot more tenticles/arms or whatever than the star polyps I have.

Hydroids are bad, but shouldn't spread too fast if your water quality it good.
