Hey all - I've got approximately a bajillion (but really closer to 20) of what I believe to be the clonal form of a bubble tip anemone. They're each about the size of a quarter, with tentacles that clearly exhibit BTA bulbing. They've reproduced from an initial number of 4 or 5 in about a year and a half, although the numbers anecdotally seem to have jumped since the introduction of a metal halide.

I have two questions regarding this:

1. How common is it to see this form of the BTA?
2. Has anyone had success rearing anemones of this small size into a size suitable for hosting? I'm feeding them sporadically, but they seem to be more inclined to split than to grow as individuals.

I'll try to take pictures so you all can see them, but I'm having some camera troubles these days. In the mean time, any thoughts?

Scott

P.S.: See my other soon-to-be-posted question about BTAs. Thanks!

You don't have BTA's unfortunately. I forget what they are called, but they wont grow any larger than quarter size.

Fair enough. They're still pretty.

Anyone have an idea what these things are called, then? I want to get my learn about them on.

IIII'm dumb.

Anemonia Majano.

See, I thought all those "pest" anemones were ugly.

Thanks, Tag!
