what are these

Hi, I have 2 pictures whatsthis4 and whatsthis5 in my gallery. Can someone let me know what they are?

whatsthis4 was found in my sump and the worm was 2.5 inches long. My peppermint sometimes pulls them and eats them. But I jsut want to know if they are good or bad worms.

The worm looks like a bristleworm to me. They are fine. The other looks like some kind of algae, but I don't know what kind.

Oh ok. I thought the worm was one of the fireworms.

fireworm is a subset of bristleworms, but most of the worms in the hobbyist environment now are Pacific Bristleworms, a harmless and useful detrivore.

the red stuff appears to be some type of red algae, possibly Botryocladia of some type. i would suck it out before it gets out of hand. :D
