Hi All,

I have a 29 gallon tank that I am going to use to raise red gracilaria (macro-feast) for my fish to eat. I have the algae at the surface....4" of water depth or less and two 55 watt PC bulbs about 4 inches above the algae. What color PC lamps would be best to raise this algae does it need mostly white or blue light?

Also how important is the water flow with growing this algae? It currently has surface flow and a power head under it so it is in low flow I would say.

Any advice would be benificial.

Thanks!

From what I see in my tank, the brighter light the better for red macro. Again this is just what I see in my tank.
