Crab identification or Mantis shrimp??

I have a crab that has found a hole in a Zoo rock. Kind of hard to get the rock out of the tank without some trouble and he has plenty of back doors.

I can't get a very good look at him but it appears to be a very small crab. What concerns me is he make a soft poping noise like a mantis shrimp. Can crabs make this noise to or do I have a mantis?

i have the same thing, crab on a zoo rock that refuses to come out, no clicking noises though, check 2 hrs after lights out with a flashlight to see if its a crab or mantis, id guess crab, as for the clicking you may have a mantis somewhere else other than where your looking, i believe pistol shrimp make this clicking too

I had a similar thing that was a mantis, he lives in my sump now...

If it is a mantis how do I get him out without tearing into my reef?

Are there traps available?

sounds more like a pistol shrimp. i hope thats the case. pistols make soft pops one at a time. a mantis makes multiple pops and are fairly loud.
