IYO (in your opinion) what brand and kelvin will give the best coloration and growth without using actinic supplements? Currently I am using a coralife ballast, as I know the type of ballast will effect the bulbs preformance.

I'm guessing that's an e-ballast, correct? If so, probably a 10-12k bulb as e-ballasts tend to run bulbs a little bluer than mag ballasts. Might also want to check out the pheonix 14k depending on how much blue you like.
